The main feature of the festival is that it is attended by collectives, the performances of which are created on the basis of national literature: folklore, epic, myths, legends and tales of the peoples inhabiting a particular region.

The purpose of the festival is to consolidate the creative efforts of the theatrical community for the patriotic education of young people and popularization of the idea of national unity. The festival contributes to the strengthening of civil identity and the transfer of traditional spiritual and moral values to the younger generation. Our team will have a lot of preparatory work ahead of us, which will end with a large-scale festival in 2025, and we are confident that together with the Foundation for the Development of Russian Culture, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Irkutsk Region, LLC "INK" and other project partners, we will achieve our goals and make the festival a significant theatrical event in Russia," said Viktor Stepanovich Tokarev, organizer of the festival, director of the Irkutsk TYUZ named after A. Vampilova.
The festival is scheduled for the beginning of June 2025, it will be visited by more than 5,000 spectators, and almost 400 representatives of the theater community from Russia and foreign countries will be involved in 20 theatrical productions, the geography of participants will expand. The project program will also include a unique creative experiment — a joint theatrical production of the groups participating in the festival based on early stories and scenes by A. Vampilov’s "We ran away from the sunset" (online broadcast is planned), as well as the work of the international director’s laboratory.

In order to introduce young people to the culture of the peoples of Russia, representatives of national and cultural centers of the republics and other regions of the country will be invited. Exhibition spaces will be organized for them, where they will be able to demonstrate the cultural heritage of their people — costumes, crafts, musical instruments, performance of national dances and songs in their native language.
Maxim Khvostishkov, Director of the Russian Culture Development Fund.

"A huge contribution to this victory at the PFKI competition was made by the Irkutsk TYZ named after A. Vampilov, who is the initiator and organizer of the festival. The project was supported by the regional Ministry of Culture, as well as the Irkutsk Oil Company, which acted as a partner of the project and will provide additional funding. In conclusion, I would like to once again express my gratitude to the team of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives for their support and trust!
